Catalog Setup

  1. Have Feedonomics give the feeds to the FTP location associated with the product feed.
  2. Go through the catalog process in Fbook to pull from that fpt location.

Tracking Pixels

Then you have to place custom audience pixels. Use the most up to date pixels that facebook provides, but the general principle is that there are four places code needs to go:

  • On everypage of the site
  • Product Landing Pages (ViewContent)
  • Add to Cart (AddToCart)
  • Thank you / Order Confirmation (Purchase)

See more here: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/marketing-api/dynamic-product-ads/product-audiences/v2.5

Product Landing Pages should trigger the ViewContent event:

fbq(‘track’, ‘ViewContent’, {

content_type: ‘product’,

content_ids: [‘PRODUCT_ID_GOES_HERE’] // TODO

});

Add To Cart should trigger the AddToCart event:

fbq(‘track’, ‘AddToCart’, {

content_type: ‘product’,

content_ids: [‘PRODUCT_ID_GOES_HERE’] // TODO

value: 3.50, // TODO

currency: ‘USD’

});

Purchases / Thank you Confirmation pages should trigger Purchase event:

fbq(‘track’, ‘Purchase’, {

content_type: ‘product’,

content_ids: [‘PRODUCT_ID1_GOES_HERE’, ‘PRODUCT_ID2_GOES_HERE’] // TODO

value: 3.50, // TODO

currency: ‘USD’

});

Campaign Setup

There are again a couple of different pieces, all of the manipulation is done in Power Editor.

There are Product Sets (these are basically like product groups in Google Shopping), and you can segment your product catalog by a couple of different fields to get these Product Sets.

Then you create a campaign. Each campaign can have multiple Ad Sets (each Ad Set can target one Product Group). Each Ad Set can have multiple Ads.
